Over the last couple of weeks, God has been speaking to me from Judges 7 verses 2- 8. (Those are the scriptures that capture the test that God carried out to select those who would participate in Gideon’s army). The more I reflect over those scriptures and God’s selection criteria, the more I appreciate the huge impact that fear and love has on the fulfillment of our destiny.
Judges 7 v 2-8 got me thinking about 1 John 4 verse 18 which states that:
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love”.
As I muse over that scripture, I realize that MANY of God’s people have NOT been made perfect in God’s love. They are yet to come to a deep understanding of the “breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge” (Ephesians 3 v 18). MANY are still trying to understand God’s love with their distorted human mind and the negative experiences that they have had. Sadly, the fact that God loves them is a more of a cliché than a liberating truth!
1 John 4 v 18, says that; “perfect love casts out fear”. That means that if you have not been made perfect in God’s love you are going to be driven by FEAR. The presence of love is the absence of fear and the presence of fear is the absence of love! And when people are driven by ANY kind of fear – either fear of failure, financial hardship, ridicule, rejection and even fear of success, they will NEVER enter into their destiny. 
You will recall that in the Parable of Talents in Matthew 25, the individual who buried his one talent did so out of FEAR. This is what he said to his master during the time of accountability (Matthew 25 v 25):
“And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine”.
Fear crippled him. Fear prevented him from fulfilling his destiny. He was afraid of losing what he had. He had a scarcity mindset. He did not see what he had as a seed to INVEST for profit but rather saw it as an EXPENSE and a loss. That is what separates winners from losers. Winners think INVESTMENTS, losers think EXPENDITURE.
My question to you today is; have you been made perfect in love or are you still struggling with God’s love? Think about it. What is at the root of some of your decisions, indecisions, inaction and inertia? Could it subconsciously be some type of fear?
Those who have been made perfect in love are fearless, they are bold and courageous because ‘love TRUSTS, love BELIEVES and love HOPES’ (1 Corinthians 13 v 7). Love knows that it knows that it knows that God will keep his word. That God is faithful and that he will come through for them. Love knows that God will provide and will not forsake them. It knows that they will never fail because Jesus can never fail.
Like David, love has the faith to leap over walls (Psalm 18 v 29),
Like Peter, it has faith to launch into the deep and walk on water (Luke 5 v 4 & Matt 14 v 29),
Like Joshua and Caleb, it has faith to take the land (Numbers 13 v 30), and like,
Gideon’s 300, love has faith to step outside its comfort zone (Judges 7 v 6).
God is currently recruiting an end time army of G.A.M.E. Changers, my question to you is that is the FEAR of the financial INVESTMENT and commitment going to be the decisive factor for whether or not you will enroll OR will it be FAITH in God’s ability to provide for you?
It is time for you to put action (works) to your faith, EXERCISE your faith muscles and demonstrate it. Remember, faith without works is dead being alone (James 2 v 17). It will take quantum FAITH for you to EXPERIENCE quantum SUCCESS and acceleration in 2016.
