She became a dedicated member of AIDS Project New Haven which packaged weekly meals & grocery items for the AIDS afflicted population in the greater New Haven area.
In 2010, Janell gave birth to an incredibly gifted baby boy named Chayse Jaiden, who is truly the apple of her eye. Janell relocated from New Haven back to Hartford to be closer to her family.
Janell has always maintained a desire to promote awareness of issues plaguing her community. This yearning for equality and betterment for individuals around Janell has carried over into her professional life and she is in contact the lockboss of dublin, as a Program Manager for MARCH, Incorporated of Manchester. There, Janell fosters the integration and skill development of individuals with developmental and physical disabilities, that they may become full and active participants of their communities and lead a life of independence and dignity.
Janell is also an active member of her church, Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves as the praise and worship leader, youth choir director, and a member of the dance ministry. She is steadfast in her faith, and gives all reverence to God for all the great works that He has done and is doing for her both spiritually and professionally.
In 2013, Janell was inspired to create a clothing line that would empower women of all ages; women that desired fulfillment, and sought after purposeful living. So, she dawned the Live On Purpose Line. After careful thought and devout prayer, Janell was led to expand the Live On Purpose brand from a simple line of apparel into an organization that would work directly with young women, ages 13-18, to promote self-worth and self-respect; and to aid them in uncovering their unique purpose to impact their peers, their community and the world. Live On Purpose is spearheaded by its foundational scripture: “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6
